One of the people that I admire the most is Kyung-wha Kang. She is the South Korean ambassador to the United States. She began her job in October 2025, becoming the first woman from Korea to serve in this role.
Before this, she was one of Korea’s most important diplomats. From 2017 to 2021, she was South Korea’s first female Minister of Foreign Affairs. Kang led the country’s global relations and represented Korea in many big international meetings.
She has worked around the world, including long years at the United Nations. There, she held top positions and focused on human rights, humanitarian aid, and global policy.
After serving in government, she became the President and CEO of the Asia Society in New York, a group that builds understanding between nations.
As ambassador, she says she wants to strengthen the Korea-U.S. alliance and work closely with the United States on peace and stability. I believe she is the perfect person for the job.
